This is an article about the efforts of the Boy Scouts. We did not launch a campaign about recruitment- only posted this article- the effect of which we cannot measure. If you would like to give us a call on our hotline or search our community service providers database available on the website for companies affiliated with youth in your area - we would be happy to contribute to your efforts this way.

Hello my name is Angela Lopez and I work for the Girl Scouts. I just had a question. What was the out come? Were you able to recruit a lot of Hispanic/Latinos? I was wondering if this was a success for you all, if you could give me some ideas on how to connect with the Hispanic communities to get there interest in becoming a member of scouts, especially Hispanic Adult leaders/co-leaders. I am in the process of working with a grant that specifically targets Hispanic/Latino recruitment and retention. If you could give me some of your success stories, I’d sure appriciate it.

My name is Juan Valdez and I am 20 years old. I have lived here in Texas for 19 years. I attended k-12 and I am now attending The University of Texas Pan American. It has been very hard for me to recieve financial aid. Im glad that im recieving it but i wish that it could be so much easier if only i had a social security number. It’s not fair that i have to try twice as hard and pay twice as much for my school tuition. I hope that Dream Act will change my life and help me pay for all of my Education until i become a Doctor.I would like to help my community because i know that together anyone can achieve anything……
